Highlights

A Bird-Watcher's Paradise

María la Gorda, listed as a reserve of the biosphere by UNESCO, is located on the southern coast of the western end of Cuba. Birds like Cartacuba, Tocororo, Sijú platanero, Zunzuncito, among many others, are to be found in a migration corridor of more than 50 species flying from north to south and vice versa, and stopping in the coastal lagoons and wetlands.

Historical Heritage

The atmosphere and architecture is particularly stirring in Havana, Trinidad, and Cienfuegos where grandiose squares and cobbled streets tell erstwhile tales of opulence and intrigue.

Trinidad

Trinidad, a riot of colonial baroque, a one of a kind, perfectly preserved Spanish colonial settlement where the clocks stopped ticking in 1850. Once a Spanish colonial
settlement built on huge sugar fortunes and now a Unesco World Heritage site.
